A 24 year old man was shot in his left leg while begging at the Inanda Road and Wick Street intersection in Verulam – KZN.
The victim informed members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) who arrived on scene that he was navigating between vehicles looking for handouts from drivers when he bumped into the rear view mirror of one of the cars. He alleged that the driver produced a firearm and shot him before he sped off.
The man was unable to confirm what vehicle the suspect was driving but stated that he had previously seen him at the intersection.
He was provided First Aid by Firefighters before being transported to a medical facility.
