The SAPS Vhembe District detectives have arrested four suspects believed to be part of a gang that has been terrorising communities around Vhembe District and recovered one firearm with ammunition as well as a motor vehicle.
The suspects were arrested on Thursday 24 August 2023, at Mphambo village in Malamulele Policing area during a tactical joint operation comprising members from Makhado, Levubu, Waterval and Thohoyandou.
The confiscated NP200 motor vehicle was allegedly used during the commission of criminal activities. The suspects might be linked to other cases as Police’ investigation unfolds.
The Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has commended this team of members for the great collaborative efforts in arresting the suspects.
The four suspects are expected to appear before the Malamulele Magistrate’s Court in due course on charges of possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
