Gender-base violence talks continue for women’s month in the Daveyton area

Between 12 and 13 August 2023, the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) Social Crime Prevention Unit (SCPU) officers made their way to Mayfield Extension 9 in the Daveyton area, to continue engaging community members on gender-based violence (GBV), in the Women’s Month awareness campaign.

With Women’s Month halfway through, the EMPD continued awareness talks that seek to address various social ills within communities with disadvantaged backgrounds. Officers exhausted all resources to reach as many communities as possible, throughout the City of Ekurhuleni (CoE), to improve knowledge and restore trust in the police. Residents of Mayfield Extension 9 had the opportunity to rub shoulders with the men and women in blue, creating excitement and anticipation. These campaigns will continue to help curb social ills such as GBV.

The EMPD will continue to work tirelessly, passionately, and will remain committed to being about bringing a change in society.
