Man discovered hanging in Westbrook

A man believed to be in his twenties was discovered hanging from a tree near a quarry in Westbrook – KZN.

A passerby made the discovery while taking a short cut through the bush. The man fled to the quarry and informed employees of his findings. They contacted Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) for assistance.

Reaction Officers were immediately dispatched and arrived on scene. Officers were led into the bush where the male was found hanging by a rope from a tree branch.

The deceased’s identity and motive for his actions have not been established.
