Operation Restore makes their presence felt as they arrest suspects on possession charges

Members of Operation Restore deployed in Manenberg area pursuit information received and searched a premises in Scheldt Walk, Manenberg on Thursday evening where they confiscated 12 rounds of ammunition that was found hidden in a mattress in the bedroom. A 30-year-old man was arrested and detained.

The same members searched a premises in Collen court in the early hours of this morning and found a plastic bag containing mandrax tablets and an undisclosed amount of cash in the house. A 63-year-old man was arrested for dealing in drugs.

Furthermore the members searched a premises in Nellie court and arrested a 22-year-old man for dealing in drugs. This follows the discovery and seizure of 448 mandrax tablets, seven packets crystal meth and an undisclosed amount of cash in the house.

In addition, the members searched a premises in Zuurberg Road, Heideveld and confiscated 51 full mandrax tablets, five half mandrax tablets and 37 heroin straws. Two males, aged 21 and 23 were arrested and detained.

The suspects will make their respective court appearances in the Athlone Magistrates’ court on Monday.
