Over R70k worth of illegal substances were confiscated, one suspect behind bars in the Germiston area

The Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) Officers, arrested a suspect for possession and possible dealing in illegal substances, worth over seventy thousand Rands (R70 000), in the Germiston area.

Following up on information provided by a reliable source about an individual selling drugs, DEU Officers proceeded to President Street in Germiston, where a 45-year-old male was found in possession of nine medium ziplock bags of crystal meth, one large plastic of crystal meth, one large plastic of Cat, two scales, one hundred and fifty (150) smoking glass pipes, all with an estimated value of seventy-seven thousand five hundred Rands (R77 500), and nine hundred and sixty Rands (R960) in cash.

The offender was immediately arrested and taken to Germiston police station, facing charges of possession and possible dealing in illegal substances. The suspect is expected to appear at the Germiston Magistrate’s Court soon.
