Three suspects nabbed for possession of drugs, stock theft and possession of unlicenced firearm

Members of Sekhukhune Flying Squad in conjunction with the FCS members, Nebo and Hlogotlou Police arrested three suspects aged between 26 and 37 in connection with crimes ranging from possession of suspected stolen goods, drugs (Nyaope), and unlicensed firearm at Maserumole village on Thursday 03 August 2023.

According to information, a member of the Sekhukhune Flying Squad was on his way to Tubatse to attend an interview when he noticed a suspicious tinted motor vehicle, a Toyota Fortuner silver in colour with four unknown male occupants.

The member pulled off the vehicle and when it stopped, one of the occupants opened the door and ran on foot.

He proceeded to searching the driver and his crew. While searching them, he found Nyaope drugs and an air-gun in their possession. The vehicle was also carrying 13 livestock (goats) which they couldn’t account for. While he was busy at the scene, a member of Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit (FCS) who was passing-by noticed him and stopped to help. The local Police were also notified and the suspects were arrested.

They suspects will be charged with possession of suspected stolen goods, possession of drugs (Nyaope) and unlawful possession of an unlicensed firearm.

The Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe hailed the commitment and resilience displayed by the team involved in the arrest and recovery of the stock.

The suspects will appear before Nebo Magistrate Court soon.

Police investigations are still continuing.
