Lieutenant General Thembisile Patekile, Western Cape Provincial Commissioner, led high-density operations as part of #OperationShanela in the Garden Route District. The integrated forces comprise special units such as POP, TRT, K-9, Flying Squad, AGU, Detectives, Anti-Extortion and others.
These units are joined by Provincial and local traffic, Correctional Officers and local security companies. Lt Gen Patekile inspired the integrated forces to rid communities from the scourge of crime generators such as illegal firearms, illicit drugs, dangerous weapons and unlicensed liquor outlets.
