A 21-year-old man was arrested by Reaction Officers in a house he forced entered into on Mohamed Mayet Drive in Haven Crest – KZN last night (Friday).
An elderly male contacted the Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) Tongaat Operations Centre at approximately 23:32 requesting assistance. The caller informed the Controller On Duty that he was alone in the residence and could hear a suspect interfering with his windows.
Reaction Officers were dispatched to the property and discovered a bedroom window ajar and burglar bars forced inwards (picture 2). Officers entered the house and conducted a search.
One suspect was discovered hiding in a bedroom. He was immediately restrained. He informed Officers that a second suspect was hiding along the fence line. Reaction Officers conducted a search for the second suspect but no further arrests were made.
The suspect was detained at SAPS Tongaat.
