A man was seriously injured after he was allegedly assaulted by a known drug dealer on Maple Drive in Trenance Park – KZN today (Sunday).
Residents contacted Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) requesting assistance for the unconscious male. One caller informed the controller on duty that the man was the victim of a hit and run accident.
Reaction Officers were dispatched and arrived on scene at approximately 12:09. The victim sustained injuries to his head. He appeared concussed and provided limited information. While attending to the scene, Reaction Officers received information that the male had been assaulted by a drug dealer operating in the area. Circumstances leading up to the attack were not immediately established.
The Verulam SAPS are investigating further.
