The Gqeberha based Hawks’ Serious Organised Crime Investigation arrested two (2) foreign nationals aged 29 and 33 for allegations of kidnapping on 15 September 2023.It is alleged that on 3 September 2023, the victim was kidnapped by suspects from his house at Gqeberha. The suspects allegedly used the victim’s cell phone to contact the family, demanding an unknown ransom. The matter was reported to the Hawks for investigation.
During the investigation, the suspects were traced by the investigating team and were both arrested in Gqeberha where they were found in possession of the victim’s cellphone.
Both suspects will make their first appearance at Gqeberha Magistrates’ Court on 18 September 2023.
