Five arrested for suspected stolen copper cable in Hennenman

After a long observation, a multi-disciplinary partnership effort yielded positive results as 5 suspects were arrested for stolen copper cable.

From Tuesday 17 October 2023 at 19:00 until the next day at about 03:00, the team comprising of Henneman Rural Safety police members, local farmers and security companies, went out looking for a group of suspicious male suspects driving a white Mazda Sting spotted in the area.

The suspects’ vehicle was seen near Hennenman and seemed to be heavily loaded. The team headed by Rural Safety coordinators, stopped the vehicle and 5 suspects came out from the vehicle.

While members were busy searching the vehicle they found rolls of copper cable in the boot. All five suspects aged between 27 and 32 were arrested for possession of suspected stolen copper cable and will appear in the Hennenman Magistrate court soon. The vehicle used was also confiscated.
