A 20 year old man was arrested and a cellphone stolen during a robbery was recovered by Reaction Officers in Temple Valley – KZN this morning (Friday).
A member of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) was on patrol on Packo Street at approximately 08:02 when he was informed that a 13-year-old was robbed of his Samsung cellphone by a knife wielding suspect at a tuck shop.
The Reaction Officer obtained a clothing description from the teenager before launching a search for the suspect. A male matching the description was apprehended fleeing through an unpaved road on Petunia Drive. The victim’s cellphone was recovered in his possession.
During an interview, the accused informed Reaction Officers that he had been recently released on free bail for a house robbery he committed in Waterloo – KZN.
The suspect was placed under arrest and detained at SAPS Verulam.
