The decomposed remains of a 15-year-old boy who was missing for almost a week were recovered in Vanrova – KZN this afternoon (Wednesday).
Residents conducting a search for the teenager located his body lying on a live illegal electricity connection approximately 200 metres from his residence. His body was in an advanced stage of decomposition.
A member of the search party contacted Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) for assistance at approximately 14:02. Reaction Officers were immediately dispatched and on arrival discovered a large crowd on scene. It was established that the boy disappeared on Thursday (28/09/2023).
Law Enforcement were awaiting the arrival of the Ethekwini Electricity Department to disconnect the illegal electricity supply before the teenager’s body could be recovered.
