On Wednesday, 18 October 2023 police members attached to Operation Restore conducted an intelligence driven operation in Bellville and pursued information received of drugs to be delivered at premises in Bellville.
The members operationalised the information, stopped and ensued with a search of the vehicle in Church Street, Bellville. Upon searching the vehicle the members discovered 1100 mandrax tablets, 396 packets containing crystal meth, two cellphones and an undisclosed amount of cash, believed to be the proceeds of crime. A 52-year-old man was arrested and detained for dealing in drugs.
In an unrelated incident, on Wednesday 18 October 2023 members of Operation Restore received information of a male person who is dealing in drugs in a white Chevrolet Spark in Voortrekker Road, Bellville. The members responded to the information received and they found the vehicle at the mentioned address. The members ensued with a search of the vehicle upon which they found a plastic bag containing 33,89 gram crystal meth. A 35-year-old man was arrested and taken to Bellville SAPS for further detention.
Further information led the members to a liquor outlet in Bellville where they searched the premises and confiscated a large quantity of prohibited liquor. A 46-year-old man was arrested and detained for the possession of prohibited liquor.
Once charged the suspects will make their respective court appearances in the Bellville Magistrates’ court on the mentioned charges.
