Resident sought for purchasing stolen cellphones in Brindhaven

A Brindhaven – Kwazulu Natal resident is being sought for purchasing cellphones stolen by drug users in the Verulam Central Business District.

Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) was called out to Glenaire Avenue this morning by a resident who noticed an altercation between two adult males. Blood was seen on the shirt on one of the men.

Reaction Officers responded to the location and interviewed both men. One male identified himself as a robbery victim. He informed Officers that he apprehended a suspect who robbed him of his mobile phone yesterday in the Verulam CBD.

The suspect was leading him to althe residential area where drug users were selling the stolen items. When Reaction Officers interviewed the suspect, he informed them that the stolen items where being sold to a family living in Brindhaven.

The man appeared heavily drugged and could not point out the home.

The suspect was arrested and detained.
