Two illegally operated establishments shutdown in the Clovedene area

On Wednesday 04 October 2023 at 10:00, the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) Bronberg Precinct Officers and the City of Ekurhuleni (CoE) Officials, conducted a By-Laws enforcement operation where two (2) illegally operated businesses, were shut down in the Clovedene area.

The EMPD Officers, revisited the establishments, which were earlier on issued with written notices, to check if there were improvements, better working conditions and safety measures in place, as previously advised.

Harry Gwala road was visited first, and Officer’s noticed that two (2) business sites operating on the Municipal land, that is an automotive plus the gas filling workshops, did not adhere to any of the given advice where liable owners, alleges that they spoke to one of the Ward Councillors, who gave them permission to utilise the area.

When asked who it was, they could not back up their story so, their establishments, were immediately shutdown and they were directed to the nearest Customer Care Centre (CCC).

The city always encourages its residence, to please utilize Customer Care Centres, for any needed form of information.
