The members of the Provincial Organized Crime Investigation Unit received information about drug-related activities around Bendor on Friday, 10 November 2023 at about 13:00.
The information was operationalized, and the team drove to the identified house to search, and different types of drugs were found hidden in the couch in the sitting room: heroine, crystal meth, cat, ice, and mushroom.
A 38-year-old suspect was arrested, and drugs worth an estimated street value of R25 000 were seized for further investigation.
The Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, commended the police for their swift response in arresting the suspect.
The suspect is expected to appear at Polokwane Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 13 November 2023 to face charges of possession of drugs.
Police investigations are still continuing.
