A Green Mamba measuring approximately one (1) metre was captured at a home in La Mercy – KZN today (Saturday).
The Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) Tongaat Operations Centre received a call for assistance from the homeowner after they discovered the reptile in the living room. Reaction Officer Jordan Tarr (pictured) was immediately dispatched to assist and arrived at approximately 14:31.
The Officer identified the snake as a highly venomous Green Mamba. He safely captured the reptile after several unsuccessful attempts were made to contact a professional snake catcher.
The snake was released in a wooded area away from home.
