A lone Armed Robbery suspect is being sought by Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) after he held a Southridge, Verulam – Kwazulu Natal resident at gunpoint this afternoon.
Reaction Officers were dispatched to Primrose Drive at approximately 16:36 (Wednesday) after receiving a call for assistance from a 31 year old male. Officers arrived on scene minutes later & were informed that the victim returned from work and parked infront of his home. His wife alighted the vehicle and was manually opening the driveway gate when a lone suspect approached and produced a firearm. The victim was deprived of his Samsung A Series mobile phone. The robber was attired in a blue shirt, blue cap & in possession of a black bag fled into a dense bush.
The suspect, a South African male is believed to be responsible for a spate of Armed Robberies in the area.
