On Wednesday 6 December 2023 at 12h00, the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department( EMPD) Thembisa precinct Officers, arrested a 35-year-old male driver and the bogus official document, was seized.
While Officers were busy enforcing the Law, on Andrew Mapheto Drive near the Thembisa plaza, they tried to stop an approaching five doors gold Renault, which seemed to be in a hurry. A male occupant behind the steering wheel, who was alone in the vehicle, showed no intensions, to stop as instructed by Officers, in uniform. A chase ensued and not long, the hatch-back, was cornered on the same stretch of road, next to Esangweni taxi rank. The nervous driver couldn’t give a sound answer for his clumsy action. A driver’s license was requested and the motorist, produced a counterfeit.
The lawbreaker, facing charges of possession of a fraudulent driver’s license and failing to stop, as instructed by Officers’ was handcuffed and marched to the Thembisa South police station. He is expected to appear at the Thembisa Magistrate’s Court soon.
