Three males aged between 26 and 51 were arrested by the Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD) Tactical Response Unit together with the SAPS Crime Intelligence for conspiracy to commit a robbery and possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition in Linbro Park.
On Monday, 04 December 2023, officers received information about a group of males who were planning to commit a robbery in the Johannesburg CBD.
The officers were given the whereabouts of the suspects and after adequately observing and following them from Alex Mall in Alexandra, the officers intercepted the males who were travelling in Gold Mitsubishi Colt on the N3 South and Marlboro Drive in Linbro Park.
The officers searched the vehicle and the three male occupants. A 9mm Norinco pistol with four live rounds of ammunition was found in their possession.
The trio was arrested and detained at Alexandra SAPS where it was further discovered that the said suspects were wanted in connection with various robberies and Cash In Transit incidents.
