A vehicle caught alight in the parking lot of a shopping centre on Old Main Road in Ottawa – KZN yesterday afternoon (Wednesday).
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) arrived on scene at approximately 19:46 and discovered the rear of the vehicle engulfed in flames. The Ethekwini Fire & Rescue Services arrived shortly thereafter and extinguished the blaze. The owner of the vehicle was not on scene at the time of the incident. It was alleged that the car was parked in the parking lot earlier in the day. A vehicle check confirmed that the car was not sought after.
Circumstances leading up to the fire were not known.
