Woman arrested for possession of drugs with an estimated street value of R50 000 in Plettenberg Bay

The swift response on a tip-off from the public landed a woman behind bars following a bust at her residence in Plettenberg Bay where drugs with an estimated street value of R50 000 were confiscated during a crime combating operation.

On Monday, 26 December 2023 at about 09:30 Plettenberg Bay Crime Prevention Unit embarked on a search and seizure operation at a premises situated at Bossiesgif in Plettenberg Bay.

The members ensued with a search which yielded success when the members seized drugs.

Police confiscated the find and subsequently arrested the 31-year-old woman who was present during the search.

An undisclosed amount of cash, believed to be proceeds of the illicit drug trade, was also seized at the premises.

The suspect remain in custody and is expected to make her first court appearance in the Plettenberg Bay Magistrates’ court on Thursday, 28 December 2023 on a charge of dealing in drugs.
