Observant police officers recover presumed stolen property in Lingelethu-West

Police members attached Lingelethu-West SAPS conducted high density patrols on Tuesday 30 January 2024.

When they entered Siphiwe Street in Illitha Park at around 10:20 they noticed a White Toyota Quantum offloading electrical appliances. When they approached the vehicle, two males fled and the police members gave chase and apprehended both males. Whilst they interviewed the driver of the minibus they saw another vehicle in close proximity loaded with electrical appliances. The driver of the vehicle sped off and a high-speed chase ensued.

The police members forced the driver to stop and confiscated a consignment of electrical appliances. They detained five suspects between the ages of 21 and 28 on a charge of possession of presumed stolen property.

Once charged the suspects are expected to make a court appearance in the Khayelitsha Magistrate’s Court on the mentioned charge.
