Operation Shanela disruptive actions in Mangaung Metro continue

Members from various units in Mangaung Metro held a roadblock on R30 Glen area yesterday, Wednesday 24 January 2024. The objective of police actions is to intercept movement of stolen property, illicit drugs, contraband goods, search for wanted suspects, illegal firearms and ammunition and enforce other laws such as National Road Traffic Act 93/96.

In total; 180 vehicles and 210 persons were searched during the roadblock. One 41-year-old male was issued with a fine for driving a motor vehicle without valid license disk

The operation continued with compliance inspection in Glen location.

Three identified illegal liquor outlets [shebeens] were visited. One (1) 46 year old female was issued with a fine for selling liquor whilst not duly registered to do so; 9 000 milliliters of beer was confiscated.

Inspection was also conducted in terms of Consumer Protection Act 2019 at a tuckshop.

More policing actions will be carried out during the throughout the week.
