Mi7 Armed Response client reported that their vehicle was stolen while parked in the Pietermaritzburg CBD. Mi7 Strategic Threat Response Unit members were immediately dispatched to assist, and met with the client to gain further information.
The vehicle, a Hyundai Creta, was luckily fitted with a tracking system. Mi7 teams obtained the last known coordinates of the vehicle from the tracking company, Matrix, which led them to the Taylor’s Halt area.
A widespread search ensued, with the aid of units from the tracking company as well as several other security service providers.
Eventually, the vehicle was spotted and all units gave chase, bringing the driver to a stop. One suspect was
apprehended.
The matter was handed over to the police for further investigation.
