A 26 year old man was arrested by Reaction Officers after he broke into an office on Russom Street in Verulam – KZN.
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were dispatched to the property after a suspect forcefully gained entry into the premises. On arrival, Reaction Officers discovered that a window pane had been removed.
Officers penetrated the building and discovered a door leading to one of the offices locked. RUSA Members obtained permission from the property owner before forcefully entering. The suspect was discovered hiding in a built-in cupboard.
During an interview, he explained that his accomplice fled as Reaction Officers entered the yard. He further stated that he was released from Westville Prison last month (January 2024) after serving a three month sentence for drug peddling.
The Canelands – KZN resident was detained at SAPS Verulam.
