Crime intelligence information led to the recovery of four unlicensed firearms

On 20 February 2024, the police in Olifantsfontein followed up on intelligence information about a suspect involved business robberies.

The suspect’s house was searched and police recovered four firearms, chrome, pangas and dagga all hidden inside a speaker.

A foreign national was arrested for possession of unlicensed firearms, drugs, suspected illegal substance and dangerous weapons.

It was later established that, one of the firearms was reported stolen and the suspect was previously arrested and convicted on a case of possession of drugs and assault.

Police investigations continue.
