Deben SAPS clamp down on crime this weekend

The police in Deben clamped down on crime this weekend with multiple successes and arrests including possession of suspected stolen copper and dealing in drugs. In the first incident a man aged 18 was apprehended for possession of suspected stolen copper cable, while members were conducting routine stop and searches on Saturday, 03 February 2024 at about 13:30.

In an unrelated case, a 23-year-old male was arrested on 02 February 2024, after members acted on a tip off. Information led the members to a scrapyard where the suspect was trying to sell copper cables.

The third incident occurred on Saturday, 03 February 2024 at 15:30, when police members arrested three men aged 18, 22 and 24 for dealing in drugs in Deben. The members acted on information received from Community patrollers. Dagga, Tik and cash was confiscated during the arrest.

All the suspects will soon appear in the Kathu Magistrate’s Court.
