Firearm Stolen During Home Invasion: Dawncrest – KZN

A 9mm Luger with seven (7) rounds of ammunition was amongst several valuables stolen during a home invasion on Sunlark Drive in Dawncrest – KZN this afternoon (Wednesday).

Five (5) suspects in a white Toyota Rav (registration unknown) derailed the drive gate and entered the property. The robbers entered the house and held up the victim. They then ransacked the residence and instructed the victim to point out the location of the safe where his firearm and jewellery were stored.

The suspects loaded two (2) televisions, a cellphone, laptop, jewellery and a firearm in to their getaway vehicle. They then locked the man one of the rooms before they sped off. The victim removed the burglar bar and fled to a neighbour who contacted Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) for immediate assistance at approximately 19:54.

On arrival, Reaction Officers were informed that an 18 month old baby was asleep in her cot during the incident. She was not injured.
Officers conducted an extensive search for the suspects but no arrests were made.
