Operation Vala Umgodi focusing on illegal mining gains momentum

Operation Vala Umgodi continue to make strides in illegal mining activities. On Friday, 16 February 2024, Johannesburg District conducted illegal mining operation at Florida area.

The operation resulted in the arrest of three undocumented persons and one for possession of unlicensed. Liquor was seized after an unlicensed shebeen was closed down and several illegal mining equipment were also seized.
