Phalaborwa police apprehend three suspects for possession of illicit drugs and thousand rands worth of stolen batteries

The Police in Phalaborwa have apprehended three male suspects through disruptive operation on Friday, 09 February 2024, for unlawful possession of illicit drugs and suspected stolen tower batteries in separate locations.

It is reported that Mopani multidiscipline Teams (Giyani and Phalaborwa), conducted tactical operation in Phalaborwa that was aimed to follow on the information about a trade of illicit drugs in the area.The team successfully spotted a 41-year-old male foreign national at a homestead in possession of drugs believed to be Cat.

In a separate incident, a 35-year-old male suspect was located at an RDP house next to the hospital, in possession of illicit drugs believed to be crystal meth.

The total street value amount of the drugs confiscated is estimated at R3000, and also an undisclosed amount of cash was seized.

In addition the team carried out a tactical operation following the information that led to the arrest a 41-year-old male suspect at Ghost House in Phalaborwa for possession of suspected stolen tower batteries that worth R5000, 00.

The Acting Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo Major General Jan Scheepers hailed the collaborative efforts by teams involved in these successesz

The suspects are expected to appear before Phalaborwa Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 12 February 2024.
