Police arrest suspects following business robbery and attempted murder cases at Burgesrfort Superspar Twincity Complex

Four suspects linked to the business robbery and attempted murder at Burgersfort Superspar Twincity Complex, on Monday, 05 February 2024 were arrested outside Ohrigstad, along R36 road.

Heavily armed group of suspects wearing balaclavas allegedly entered the store and pointed the staff with firearms, robbed them of an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes from the kiosk, and fired shots at the security officer who was responding to the robbery before fleeing the scene with white bakkie NP300 (unknown registration).

The security officer with injuries was then taken to nearest hospital for medical attention.

Four suspects between the ages of 18 and 45 were arrested on charges of business robbery and attempted murder on Monday, 05 February 2024. They were arrested at Ohrigstad.

During the arrest, two firearms and cigarettes were recovered.

The Acting Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service in Limpopo Major General Jan Scheepers welcomed the arrests. “This criminals have no place to hide; they should face the full might of the law,” remarked General Scheepers.

They will appear in the Praktiseer magistrate’s court in due course.

More arrests are expected.

The police investigation is still continuing.
