The Hawks’ Serious Organised Crime Investigating in Johannesburg is investigating a case of attempted murder and robbery and seek the help of the public in helping to identifying the suspects.
It is alleged that on Monday, 15 January 2024, three (3) IZI Cash Solutions guards were collecting money from a Super Spar in Bertrams, Johannesburg. When the cash van stopped at the entrance, two crew members went inside the store to collect money. When they were exiting the store, the crew members were ambushed and attacked by a group of men. The suspects then robbed the guards of R200 000 and fired shots injuring one of the guards who was later taken to hospital for medical attention. The service pistol with 15 rounds of ammunition of one of the guards was also stolen during the robbery.
