Major General Mbuso Khumalo, the Deputy Provincial Commissioner of Crime Detection in Gauteng, was on the ground and lead multi-disciplinary #OperationShanela in a packed and complex Johannesburg CBD earlier this morning where police were searching for stolen/hijacked vehicles, illegal firearms and other stolen goods.
At the roadblock police recovered a VW Polo that was reported stolen in Parkview in 2022. Furthermore, police arrested more than 40 suspects that included dealing in drugs and undocumented persons.
In the first phase of the operation, the team of detectives conducted #TracingOps for #wanted suspects and arrested more than 1260 suspects who had been on the run after committing various crimes.
