KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Transport, Community Safety and Liaison, Sipho Hlomuka will today conduct a contractor handover of P50/3 in Kamtshwili, Nkandla Local Municipality.
Main Road P50-3 is a surfaced road that traverses through Nkandla town, Xamukavinjelwa area, Phambana area, Ohlelo area, KwaChwezi and Hlengile villages under Nkandla Local Municipality, in the King Cetshwayo District Municipality. This road is also a collector road link between Nkandla Town and Nquthu Town and forms part of the provincial road network of South Africa.
The rehabilitation of P50/3 will provide a safe road and reduce travelling distances to important amenities. The construction of the road will also contribute towards the economic uplift of the region immensely as it will create new job opportunities during its construction phase.
