EMPD officers attended to complaints of illegal electricity connections and air pollution in Putfontein

The City’s EMPD officers attended to complaints of illegal electricity connections and air pollution in Putfontein on 5 and 6 March.

The law enforcers found two businesses operating on a plot to have connected electricity illegally, occupational health and safety act not adhered to and operating without a trading certificate.

Officers issued a notice of non-compliance, and the business owners were given seven working days to address the non-compliance.

Officers responded to another complaint of air pollution and irritation from rubber burning. The business owner acknowledged the complaint and promised to use an alternative disposal method.

EMPD will revisit the businesses to check for compliance.
