A 43 year old man was seriously injured after he was assaulted with a hammer during a dispute with a neighbour yesterday afternoon (Tuesday).
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) arrived at a block of flats in Buffelsdale and discovered a male bleeding from his injuries.
It was alleged that the man was assaulted with a hammer on his head by a neighbour during an argument.
A 14 year old female also suffered minor injuries during the scuffle. It was alleged that the injured male and his neighbour were consuming alcohol together when the incident occurred.
Circumstances leading up to the assault could not be immediately established or confirmed by Reaction Officers.
The victim was transported privately to a medical facility while the suspect was taken in for questioning by the Tongaat SAPS.
