A silver VW Polo stolen from Newlands – KZN was recovered in Verulam – KZN this afternoon (Sunday).
Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) received a call at approximately 19:42 from the owner of a Towing business requesting assistance to intercept the stolen vehicle which was travelling through Tongaat and heading towards Verulam – KZN.
Reaction Officers were immediately mobilised and spotted the vehicle at the Canelands/R102 robots. Officers converged on the car when it stopped at the R102 and Jabu Ngcobo Road intersection. A registration check confirmed that the vehicle was sought after on a Theft of Motor Vehicle case registered at the Newlands SAPS in February 2024.
The driver and the vehicle were handed over to Police for further investigation.
