Yesterday afternoon, Mi7 National Group’s Armed Response teams were dispatched to assist at the Pietermaritzburg SPCA after reports of a break in.
Mi7 Reaction Officers met a security guard – from another service provider – at the property. He reported seeing a suspect on the property attempting to steal items. Working together, Mi7 Reaction Officers and the guard thoroughly searched the premises, eventually spotting the suspect.
A foot chase ensued and the suspect was apprehended. The man was identified as an alleged repeat offender, known for being involved in other housebreakings in the area.
The matter was handed over to the police for further investigation.
