This afternoon a small group of friends gathered at the ghandi park area where they celebrated a birthday by having a Braai, moments later 3 African male suspects armed with 1 firearm and 2knives approached the group and demanded valuables.
Suspects made a female undress as some of the victims managed to flee for help on the Phoenix Highway Near homebase and managed to flag down a KZNVIP Response vehicle for assistance.
As the KZNVIP Vehicle drove in, suspect opened fire towards the vehicle and they began to flee towards the bush area across the river, a chase ensued but unfortunately the suspects managed to evade arrest through the dense bush. Suspects made off with an undisclosed amount of valuables.
The victims escaped with no injuries but were highly traumatized following the incident and were thankful for The Armed Reaction officer stopping to assist.
