Three suspects aged between 17 – 29 years old were arrested by Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) in Mount View – Kwazulu Natal.
The suspects were fled a tuckshop on Katzkop Drive after producing a firearm for a Pakistani National. The three men were in a dispute with the shopkeeper after he refused to accept a torn ten rand (R10) note. The men then fled when he called for assistance.
Reaction Officers commenced a search for the suspects at approximately 14:45 (Monday) and arrested two of the men approximately one kilometre from the scene. The second suspect was found at his residence. He had concealed the replica firearm in an outdoor sofa.
The suspects were handed over to the Verulam SAPS Crime Prevention Unit who responded swiftly to assist Reaction Officers at the scene.
