KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Transport officially launched the zonal contract to improve roads within the uMfolozi Local Municipality

KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Transport, Community Safety and Liaison, Sipho Hlomuka concluded his day at Nzalabantu Sports Field where he officially launched the zonal contract to improve roads within the uMfolozi Local Municipality.

The Zonal contract entails the routine and safety maintenance involves a range of activities, including betterment and re-gravelling, blading, blacktop patching, guardrails, pipe installation, headwalls, gabion protection, road signs, and road marking.

This project is set to last for 36 months, with an anticipated output of 40 km of betterment and re-gravelling within the uMfolozi Local Municipality. The project is designed to support emerging contractors and create jobs for local community members.

MEC Hlomuka was joined by uMfolozi Local Municipality speaker, Cllr. M. Mthiyane, Local House of Traditional Leadership, local councillors, stakeholders and officials.
