The Tshwane Metro Police Department (TMPD) conducted exceptional road safety operations around all regions of Tshwane during the Easter weekend.

Chief of Police, Commissioner YCR Faro, has led different road safety operations during this Easter holiday.

These policing interventions with other stakeholders enabled the TMPD to produce a definite result in dealing with crime and any threats on our roads during this long weekend.

These operations were conducted in Region 6 Sector 2, Region 4 in Centurion and in Region 2 Sector 2 in Sinoville.
A total of 296 AARTO 01 infringement notices amounting to a combined value of

R190 000 were issued for various traffic violations to motorists who were found flouting the law.

The Mobile Testing Centre in Sinoville tested 31 vehicles where 13 vehicles were discontinued on our roads and four warnings to rectify were issued.

Feedback received from motorists and the community was a thumbs up. These operations will be an ongoing programme throughout the year.

The TMPD encourages motorists and residents at large to be vigilant on the roads and to adhere to road traffic laws.
