A silver Hyundai i20 with registration ND 492 208 (pictured) that was advertised for sale was hijacked by two men posing as buyers.
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were called out to Ringwood Avenue in Woodview, Phoenix – KZN after receiving reports of the incident. On arrival, Reaction Officers met with the victim who explained that two males arrived at his residence yesterday (Wednesday) to view the advertised vehicle.
Today (Thursday), they returned and requested to test drive the car. The victim accompanied the two men. While travelling through Shastri Park, one of the men produced the firearm and instructed the victim to handover his cellular phone. They thereafter dumped him on the side of the road and sped off in his vehicle. The victim was not injured.
