A suspicious Toyota Quantum was spotted by one of our reaction units during the course of this morning.
The occupants were spotted loading electrical cable into the quantum and back up was requested.
Additional units arrived within minutes and approximately 10-12 suspects fled on foot and into a veld area. Our reaction officers gave chase and apprehended one of the suspects.
Stolen cable, cutting equipment and the getaway vehicle was recovered on scene.
We believe this is the same syndicate that has been terrorizing the Glenvista/Mulbarton and liefde en vrede community
with regards to cable theft and power outages.
Mondeor SAPS were contacted and the scene was handed over to them.
