Children set informal home on fire in Waterloo

A group of children aged between five and seven are believed to be responsible for setting a house on fire in Waterloo – KZN.

Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) arrived at the property and discovered the wood and iron structure on fire. Flames were spreading to neighbouring property.

Reaction Officers utilised buckets of water and a garden hose to contain the fire. According to a neighbor, a group of children were seen playing with matches near the house before the fire started. The owner of the home was not present and unreachable at the time of the incident.

The house and its contents were completely destroyed.
