Integrated illegal mining Operation Vala Umgodi at Springs policing precinct

A joint operation was conducted by the South African Police Service (SAPS) in the Ekurhuleni District, together with other stakeholders and security agencies, to combat illegal mining in the Springs area.

The operation resulted in the successful arrest of 19 illegal miners and the confiscation of various tools and equipment used in illegal mining.

The South African Police Service and other security agencies are committed to continuing the fight against illegal mining until it is eradicated.
