The determination by the members attached to Delft Crime Prevention Unit (CPU) to ensure that their streets are drug free, turned out to be productive when they arrested a 62-year-old man on a charge of dealing in drugs.
On Thursday 20 June 2024 at about 23:10, members performing crime prevention duties received information about possible drug storage at a premises in Mulanje Street, N2 Gateway, Delft. The members operationalised the information received and attended to the identified address where they found a substantial quantity of mandrax tablets. The discovery of the drugs led to the arrest of a 62-year-old man.
He is scheduled to appear in the Bellville Magistrates’ court on the mentioned charge, once charged.
